Topics provides a quick 'point and click' facility for finding
information about Scottish culture.
Topics represents a selection of resources that can be found
through Scotland's Culture, use our search
facility for more specific
searches.
There are three ways
to find topics: |
- If you know where your
topic is listed use browse
by topic
Select a link on
the left-hand side of the screen to navigate through the
topic lists.
Select your search target from the options presented in
the drop downlist, where available and click 'go':
- Scotland's Culture - electronic
resources
- SCONE (Scottish Collections
Network) - collections
- CAIRNs (Co-operative Information
Retrieval Network) - items

- If you are not sure where
your topic might be listed use the A-Z
topic list
A-Z shows all topics within
the service, listing related broader/ narrower topics
and which preferred word the service has used.
(e.g. Soccer see
Football).
Broader, Narrower and related topics are shown as BT [+]
NT [+] and See. Use the +
symbol to expand and -
symbol
to collapse a list.
Topics listed on the left of the screen will take you
to the relevant search. BT, NT and See topics listed on
the right will direct you to the preferred topic in the
A-Z list.

words the service has used for your topic, use search

Enter your word/s to find
a topic within the service, limit to one or two words
to retrieve the maximum number of hits. The results will
include any topic that include or are similar to your
words.
