The Scottish Executive's report 'Building a Better Scotland' outlines the spending proposals for Scotland for 2003-2006, part of this being the development of a National Cultural Strategy 'Creating our future...minding our past'

Major bodies who offer funding:

  • New Opportunities Fund (NOF) "...award grants to education, health and environment projects throughout the UK..."
  • Heritage Lottery Fund "...give grants to support a wide range of projects involving the local, regional and national heritage of the United Kingdom..."
  • Scottish Community Foundation "...funding for locally based charities and community groups..."
  • Scottish Arts Council "...provide both funding and advice on applying for funding, and work at both a national and local level..."
  • The Community Fund "...distribute money raised by the Lottery to support charities and voluntary groups..."

  • Fair Share programme "... the programme is made up of two strands and has been developed jointly by the New Opportunities Fund and the Community Fund..."
  • Equal Opportunities "... Scottish Arts Council is working to bring the arts closer to everyone in Scotland..."
